Racecourses

This screen enables the player to examine the games individual racecourses details.

If accessed via a screen that has already focused on a certain racecourse then this screen will default to display the full details for that racecourse. For example. The STABLE/HOME menu displays the current days selected meeting. Clicking on the RACECOURSES button will result in this screen defaulting to the racecourse for the current meeting.

The full list of racecourses appears in the table down the left side of the screen. Clicking on a racecourse will result in the racecourse map and details being displayed in the top-right table.

The Future meetings (bottom screen) table contains all the forthcoming meetings at the selected racecourse (for the coming month).

The selected racecourses records and the overall distance records are displayed towards the centre of the screen. These tables display the current records for all distances up to 2 1/2 miles. The player may click on the record holding horses name to access the horses DATA screen.

As usual a number of icons may be displayed. A small yellow icon next to a horses name, either 1,2 or 3 indicates the horse is a group winner (group 1,2 or 3 winner). A small 'cup' icon next to a horse, trainer or jockey indicates a current championship leader.

To view 2yo only records check the '2yo records only' check box.

By unchecking the ONLY INCLUDE FOREIGN COURSES IF RACED bullet you can view all racecourses in the database.

NOTE: During a race meeting jockeys may occasionally report going variations on the racecourse. These comments apply to turf courses only. For example, if jockeys report that the better ground is towards the stands side this indicates that horses racing away from the stands side (the top of the screen) may be at a disadvantage. The degree of this advantage can vary but this advice should be factored in to betting considerations especially for races with big fields over the straight courses. Occasionally jockeys may report that the ground has deteriorated. This is usually on soft going and tends to be close to the rail (where many horses may have galloped). In this case horses that stick to the rail may be at a disadvantage.
