<KNOWN BUGS/GLITCHES>

Although this game does give the player the ability to save anywhere while
playing, all of this game's glitches occur only when you reload a save that was
made during a cutscene or event. One example being that Marshmallow will begin
to walk from a different position thus causing her emotion bubbles to appear
further away from her body. Overall, these glitches are usually harmless to
normal gameplay and will not be documented here.

However, there are some gamebreaking glitches that will hinder gameplay. Since
these bugs happen later in the game, we tried our best to describe these
minigame rooms or the contents within without spoiling it.

Object Blocking Bug:
 - If the game is saved anytime where Marshmallow enters a room to start a
cutscene, there may be a chance she might get blocked by the object that is
in her walking path. The two biggest rooms would be the large table in Room
101, the beginning minigame room, and the jar in the fourth minigame room.
To avoid this, you want to save the game after the cutscene of Marshmallow
entering the room is finished. Room 101 will automatically save the game for
you after the cutscene, but you will have to manually save your game in the
   fourth minigame room.

Customer Bug:
 - In the fifth minigame room, there is a couple (two customers) that may cause
the game to break because it will not register them being there due to a
switch that is triggered mid cutscene. To avoid this bug, it is recommended
to save before this couple enters the room or after the couple leaves the
   room entirely.

<A WORD FROM "MEMORIES OF FEAR">

---------------------------------------

THE FEAR, ZEIKTHEGEEK (TRANSLATOR):

 - The Maid of Farewell Heights is a game about a maid cleaning up a haunted
apartment complex that enigmaopoeia found and thought it was cute, so she
asked me if I'd be interested in translating it. I tried playing it some and
I also agreed with her thus we began our work on it. I especially enjoyed
the zaniness of all the characters within, what with the ghosts, fairy tale
references, and outright random stuff such as the different customers you
   get at a certain store.

As for the actual translation work, translating Marshie's absolute zaniness
was a blast as her mannerisms reminded me somewhat of the character Excel
from Excel Saga by Rikdo Koshi. Another favorite character of mine was Jinn
and his very odd speech pattern. (If you have not got past the third
minigame room yet, I put spoilers for it behind a ROT13 cipher.) Bar cneg bs

The game is extremely charming and I had a lot of fun translating it as well
as playing it. It's like "Toilet in Wonderland: Lite Version," another RPG
Maker 2000 game with a similarly wacky setting and plot that we had
translated, in some ways. Thanks for playing it and I hope you all enjoy
   this game!

THE MEMORY, ENIGMAOPOEIA (EDITOR):

 - I first came across The Maid of Fairewell Heights through a playthrough on
AS3Cat-Nyaato's Game Walkthroughs channel on YouTube. I was immediately
smitten with this game. I loved the idea that each room in the apartment
complex hosts their own unique minigames, plus there was lots of humorous
dialogue between the characters. Just those features alone made me want to
suggest translating this game to ZeikTheGeek which he happily obliged.

We had decided to localize the character's names in this game from a
Japanese setting to American due to some puns we personally felt translated
better in English. For example, the apartment manager's Japanese name was
Doron Haitsu and we localized his name to Farewell Hyte. "Doron" means
"goodbye," so we had used the synonym "farewell." And "Haitsu" is composed
of two Kanji characters meaning "ash" and "haven." However, it is a
homophone for the word "heights," which is the name of his apartment
complex, so we used the actual surname Hyte. Ergo, Farewell Hyte retains the
same intentional pun as the Japanese. I felt we took great care to make sure
this game still retained its wacky Japanese humor and only localized what
was needed. I hope you enjoy this game and get a good laugh out of it as I
   have.

THE POSSESSIVE, AJOGAMER (QA TESTER):

 - The Maid of Fairewell Heights is a small (about an hour or so) and fairly
charming game that really oozes cuteness, from the art design to the
character names (can't get much more sugary-sweet than "Marshmallow")!
While the gameplay consists mostly of minigames, those minigames are
actually pretty simple and straightforward. I feel this works out well
though, since this allows the game to focus more on delivering humor and
gags, which can often be fairly amusing, and really add to the game's goofy
   and playful vibe.

One of my favorite elements would probably be the cheekiness and general
spunkiness of the game's heroine; she plays off the other characters pretty
well, and can be fun to watch as she explores and reacts the SUPER SPOOKY
(okay, not THAT spooky) mansion and its inhabitants.

All in all, the game's a refreshing little adventure that really doesn't
take itself too seriously; I hope you enjoy it!
